Here are the video games that I played in 2022. At the bottom I'll link to some of the longer reviews I've posted on my blog.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
I had always wanted to play a DR game, and decided to splurge and just buy Danganronpa Decadence on the Nintendo Switch so I could play all the main titles. I am so glad I did! This game was a great introduction to the world, the UI wasn't insanely distracting, the music is awesome (I drive my husband crazy listening to the soundtrack sometimes), and I loved the characters. There were only like a few I didn't particularly care for. Anyways, I'd recommend this to anyone who loves the "death game" genre and visual novels.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
Admittedly I had downloaded a ROM of this years ago and started it on my PC, but since I hadn't played the first one, I had no idea what the hell I was doing. I'm glad I eventually went back and started from the beginning, because I didn't think I was going to like number 2, but honestly, in my opinion, it's the best out of the 3! I love all the characters (sans one weirdo) and I liked the location. The music was still great, and the plot was fantastic. It also ties in with the first one really well. The anime associated with it is good too.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Only 3 stars for number 3, because in the end I just really didn't think it was as strong of a game as the first 2. The UI on this one really distacted me and I kinda hated it. I also hated the "false start" it had, which was really misleading. Only a handful of the characters really spoke to me (and the ones that did I really like, but still), the addition of new mascot characters KILLED ME I HATED THEM SO MUCH, and the ending really sucked. Honestly, I'm glad I played it to finish out the series, but I wish they had done something different. It's kinda bothersome.

Dishonored
I had played this game years ago when I first met my husband and he was trying to convince me to get back into playing video games. I'd been depressed and too busy for a while, and he said this aesthetic of this game was right up my alley. I had never played a game like this before, and I fell in love! I started gaming again, and 8 years later... here we are! I decided to replay the game, so I could start the sequel. I just love this game so much, the storyline is fantastic, as are the characters, and the ART STYLE OH MY HEART. I love it. I suck at playing sneaky though, I always end up with high chaos :(

Dishonored 2
While the graphics improved a lot between 1 and 2 (and there wasn't much to improve on, yet they still succeeded at it), I still only give this one 4 stars because I don't like the storyline as much as I liked the original. I did like that I got to play as Emily or Corvo (I chose Emily though, because I thought it would be cool to give her a chance at revenge). But I think Corvo was a little too soft in the game, and I think Emily was a bit too much of a psycho? Even when I did low-chaos (and somewhat succeeded at it) she still came across as too harsh. Something about it just didn't feel right. Oh! And how The Outsider seemed off too. I didn't like that either. I loved the setting though, and the new powers.

Jenny LeClue DetectiveU
I was expecting absolutely nothing from this game, as I bought it on sale on my Nintendo Switch back in 2021 just because it seemed "cute". I learned it started as a phone game, so that made my expectations of it even less. However, I was very surprised how it turned out. The gameplay is fun! The story is extremely intruiging, and I love the characters! Jenny is kind of a butthole, but she's also really young, so I guess she has room to grow (and I mean, what are characters without their flaws?). But the game ends on a cliff hanger, so the creator better make another one, or I'll be mad!!

Little Nightmares
This one is kinda cheating, as it was a collaborative effort between my husband and I, and he is a controller hog when it comes to playing games together. I did more of the navigating for him, since I had actually started this game years ago, got stuck, got really annoyed, and gave up. We played it all in one day, and I'm glad we got to finish it, the storyline is super creepy! He said we'll play the sequel for Halloween next year, so I'm looking forward to it.
